Business-ready touchscreen laptop

The Dell Latitude 7430 is a 14.0-inch touchscreen laptop built for professionals who need a portable Windows 11 Pro device with pen and finger input. It pairs a 12-core Intel Core i7-1260P processor with 16GB of LPDDR5 memory and a 512GB NVMe SSD for responsive everyday performance.

Upgrade from older ultraportables

This model replaces ageing 8th or 10th-generation ultraportables that struggle with modern multitasking and lack Thunderbolt 4 connectivity. The jump is worth it when your workflow demands two 4K external displays, fast NVMe storage speeds and 12-thread processing for heavy browser loads or virtual machines.

Sustained workload behaviour

Under continuous load the 4P+8E core architecture shifts work between performance and efficient cores while the shared Iris Xe graphics draw from the 16GB LPDDR5 pool. The chassis manages thermals without fan noise becoming intrusive during long video calls or compile jobs, and the 512GB drive maintains write speeds across large file transfers.

Questions about this item

What screw pattern and maximum thickness does the 14.0 inch chassis allow for an M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD upgrade?

The laptop uses a 512 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD; the slot accepts standard 2280 drives, but the service manual should be checked for the exact screw location and any thermal-pad clearance.

Which of the two Thunderbolt 4 ports must be used first when reinstalling Windows 11 Pro from a USB-C boot drive?

Either Thunderbolt 4 port can boot the installer; the common mistake is leaving Secure Boot enabled in the BIOS, which blocks the unsigned USB media until it is disabled.

How often should the LPDDR5 memory thermal pads be inspected if the i7-1260P regularly hits 4.70 GHz turbo?

The 16 GB LPDDR5 is soldered and has no user-serviceable thermal pads; sustained turbo loads are managed by the internal vapour-chamber cooler, so no memory-specific maintenance is required.
