Product identity

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14.0-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.6GHz. It ships with Windows 11 Pro, 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB SATA M.2 SSD, targeting professionals who need a compact machine for office applications and travel.

Included accessories

The package provides the laptop, a charger and the installed battery so the system is ready to operate immediately. Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C adds high-speed peripheral expansion, while HDMI enables direct connection to external displays or projectors for presentations. A microSD card reader and gigabit Ethernet round out the wired connectivity options.

Capacity and limits

The 1TB SSD offers ample space for documents, local databases and media files without relying on cloud storage. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles desktop workloads and video playback at 1920 x 1080 but is not suited for modern 3D rendering or gaming. The 8GB memory ceiling and dual-core CPU will constrain heavy multitasking, virtualisation or compile jobs.

Questions about this item

Can the 1TB SATA M.2 SSD be replaced with a larger drive later?

Yes, the SATA M.2 slot accepts standard 2280 drives so you can swap in a higher-capacity SATA M.2 SSD when needed.

Will the Intel Core i7-6600U throttle during long compiles or video exports?

The dual-core 2.6GHz Skylake chip with 4MB L2 cache will hit its thermal limit first under sustained heavy loads, reducing clocks to stay within its power envelope.

How loud does the fan get and how hot does the chassis feel when the laptop runs all day?

Under continuous load the integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 and CPU share the same cooling, so the fan spins up audibly and the bottom deck becomes warm to the touch.
