Questions about this item

How long can the i7-6600U sustain its 2.6 GHz boost before thermal limits throttle it?

The dual-core Skylake CPU runs at a 2.6 GHz base frequency with a 4 MB L2 cache; sustained workloads will hit the laptop's cooling capacity before the processor reaches its maximum turbo.

What fan noise and surface temperatures should I expect after several hours of continuous load?

Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 shares the same heat pipes as the CPU, so the single fan spins up noticeably and the keyboard deck becomes warm to the touch during all-day use.

Which dock or power adapter do I need to drive the Thunderbolt 3 port and charge the laptop at the same time?

The notebook includes a USB-C Thunderbolt 3 connector that carries both video and Power Delivery; any Thunderbolt 3 dock or USB-C charger that supplies Power Delivery over the same cable will run the display and charge the battery.
