Mobile workstation with QHD touchscreen

The Dell Latitude 7480 combines a 14.0 inch QHD touchscreen with an Intel Core i7-7600U processor running at 2.80 GHz. It ships with 32GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB M.2 SSD. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 drives the 2560 x 1440 panel. Windows 10 Home is pre-installed with a Windows 11 Pro upgrade path available.

Thermals and power in daily use

The dual-core Kaby Lake processor is designed for high efficiency, which helps extend battery life during mobile work. Integrated graphics reduce overall power draw compared to discrete solutions. Fan noise stays low during typical office tasks and video playback. The compact chassis manages heat without throttling under sustained light loads.

Build, ports and daily connectivity

A durable black chassis meets the demands of frequent travel and client meetings. One Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port enables high-speed docks and external displays. HDMI output connects directly to projectors or televisions. Three USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, a microSD reader and Bluetooth 4.2 cover peripherals and wired networks. A 720p webcam supports video calls.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 1 TB M.2 SSD and what step do people often miss?

The 1 TB M.2 SSD is already installed in the M.2 slot; the step people miss is enabling the drive in the BIOS before booting Windows 10.

What maintenance will the 32 GB DDR4 memory need later?

The 32 GB DDR4 memory is soldered to the board and cannot be upgraded, so no user maintenance is required beyond keeping the vents clear.

What limit appears first during sustained heavy workloads on the Intel HD Graphics 520?

Thermal throttling of the dual-core Intel Core i7-7600U at 2.80 GHz limits sustained GPU performance before the graphics engine itself saturates.
