Built for mobile professionals

The Latitude 7480 combines a 14.0" FHD non-touch display with an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor and 8GB DDR4 memory. A 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD provides fast storage access. Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI ports support external displays and peripherals for travelling workers.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 2.6GHz Skylake processor maintains consistent performance during extended office tasks and web browsing. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles video playback and basic visual work without thermal throttling. Windows 10 Home 64-bit runs smoothly on the 8GB memory configuration for typical business applications.

Thermals and power in daily use

The slim chassis manages heat effectively during normal productivity workloads. Fan noise remains low during document editing and video calls. Efficient processor design contributes to longer battery runtime between charges. Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11ac wireless provide stable connectivity without excessive power draw.

Questions about this item

How warm and loud does the 14.0" Dell Latitude 7480 get when the Core i7-6600U runs at 2.6 GHz all day?

The dual-core Skylake chip is rated for low power draw, so the compact chassis stays relatively cool and the fan rarely spins at high speed during typical office workloads.

Which cables or peripherals do I need to start using the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C and HDMI ports right away?

You only need a standard HDMI cable for external displays and any USB-C accessory or dock that supports Thunderbolt 3 for high-speed data or video.

Will my older USB 3.0 devices and 802.11ac Wi-Fi network work with this laptop without adapters?

Yes — three USB 3.0 Type-A ports accept legacy peripherals directly, and the integrated wireless card connects to 802.11ac networks at full speed.
