Built for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14.0 inch business laptop powered by a dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U running at 2.6 GHz. It ships with 32GB of DDR4 memory and a 128GB SATA M.2 SSD. The non-touch FHD panel shows 1920 x 1080 resolution, and Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed.

Connectivity for travelling users

Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi with Bluetooth 4.2 cover most meeting-room and hotel-desk needs. Three USB 3.0 ports and a microSD reader handle common peripherals. Buyers who need a larger local drive or a discrete GPU for creative workloads should look at something else.

128GB SATA M.2 SSD capacity

The single internal drive holds 128GB on a SATA interface, so total local storage is fixed at that level unless you replace the module. If your workflow demands more space for offline files, this specification is the deciding constraint.

Questions about this item

What physical space is required for the 128GB SATA M.2 SSD used in the Dell Latitude 7480?

The laptop uses a standard M.2 SATA solid-state drive; the slot accepts the common 2280 form factor, so a 128GB module of that size will fit without modification.

How is Windows 10 Pro installed on the 128GB M.2 SSD, and what step is often missed?

The operating system is pre-loaded on the SSD; the step users sometimes skip is running the initial Windows 10 Pro setup wizard to create a local account and apply the first updates.

Which component will need replacement when the internal battery no longer holds a charge?

The internal battery is the only user-replaceable power component; when its capacity degrades, a compatible Dell Latitude 7480 battery must be sourced and swapped.
