Ready for travel and client meetings

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14.0-inch laptop built around a dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U processor running at 2.6 GHz with 8GB of DDR4 memory. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 drives the 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display. A 1TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD provides fast storage and Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed. This configuration suits professionals who need a compact, durable system for daily productivity on the move.

Connectivity that frees up desk space

Three USB 3.0 ports, a full-size HDMI output and a single Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port handle monitors, projectors and high-speed peripherals without a dock. Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi with Bluetooth 4.2 cover wired and wireless networking. The microSD card reader adds removable storage access. Because video and data share the compact USB-C interface, you can leave bulky adapters behind when travelling between offices or meeting rooms.

Charger and battery included for immediate use

The box contains the laptop, its power adapter and the installed battery so the system is operational straight away. Windows 10 Pro x64 is already licensed and configured, removing the need for a separate OS install. No optical drive is fitted, keeping the chassis thin and light. Buyers who need a touchscreen, discrete graphics or user-replaceable memory should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How long can the Intel Core i7-6600U run at 2.6 GHz before thermal limits throttle it?

The dual-core Skylake processor has a 4 MB L2 cache and shares the chassis cooling with the integrated Intel HD Graphics 520; sustained loads will hit the thermal ceiling once the fan reaches its maximum speed.

What fan noise and surface temperatures should I expect when the laptop runs all day?

The 14.0 inch chassis uses a single fan to cool both the CPU and the Intel HD Graphics 520; under continuous load the fan spins up audibly and the keyboard deck becomes warm to the touch.

Which dock or adapter do I need to drive two external monitors from the Thunderbolt 3 port?

The single USB-C Thunderbolt 3 port carries DisplayPort video; a compatible Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C dock with dual DisplayPort or HDMI outputs is required to run two external displays.
