Business ultraportable with 14-inch touchscreen

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14-inch business laptop equipped with an Intel Core i7-8650U processor, 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD. It ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit pre-installed and includes the power adapter. The anti-glare display supports on-cell touch input at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Suited for mobile professionals needing touch

This configuration fits users who want a lightweight chassis with a responsive touchscreen for annotation or presenting on the go. Buyers who require discrete graphics, a larger screen diagonal, or user-replaceable storage should look at other lines.

256 GB SSD with shared graphics memory

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 uses system memory rather than dedicated video memory, which limits 3D and heavy video workloads. The single 256 GB solid-state drive provides the primary storage, and the two memory slots allow expansion up to 32 GB of DDR4 if more capacity is needed later.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 256 GB SSD or upgrade to the 32 GB memory limit?

The laptop ships with a 256 GB SSD and 16 GB DDR4 already installed. You can add another module later to reach the 32 GB maximum if your workloads need more RAM, but storage capacity stays at 256 GB unless you replace the drive.

What does the 1.9 GHz i7‑8650U actually deliver in daily use?

The quad‑core Intel Core i7‑8650U runs at a 1.90 GHz base clock and uses Intel UHD Graphics 620 with shared system memory, so it handles office apps, web browsing and video playback smoothly while keeping the 14 inch chassis cool and quiet.

Which ports limit my external display options?

Video output comes from one HDMI 1.4 port and a USB Type‑C connector that carries DisplayPort signals, so you can drive two external monitors at up to 4K 30 Hz each; the three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports and Gigabit Ethernet handle data and networking.
