Dell Latitude 7490 Business Laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0" business laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-7300U dual-core processor running at 2.60GHz. It comes with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB SSD. The system runs Windows 10 Pro and includes integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics on a 1920 x 1080 non-touch display.

Suits mobile professionals needing legacy ports

This configuration suits professionals who need multiple USB-A ports and native video outputs such as HDMI and DisplayPort without adapters. Buyers requiring a touchscreen, a dedicated graphics card, or a higher core count processor should look at something else.

16GB DDR4 memory is soldered

The single specification that decides fit is the 16GB DDR4 memory, which is not upgradeable. If your workload demands more than 16GB of RAM, this unit cannot be expanded and a different system must be chosen.

Questions about this item

What does the 2.6 GHz dual-core i5-7300U deliver in daily use?

The 2.6 GHz dual-core i5-7300U handles office applications, web browsing and video playback smoothly, with 16 GB DDR4 keeping multiple tabs and documents responsive.

What external displays can the USB 3.1 Gen 1 and DisplayPort combination drive?

The DisplayPort output supports a 1920 x 1080 or higher external monitor; the three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports provide 5 Gbps data for docks or peripherals but do not carry native video.

Will the 14.0" chassis accept a second internal drive?

The specifications list a single 512 GB SSD with no mention of an additional drive bay or M.2 slot, so internal storage expansion is not supported.
