Built for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14-inch laptop powered by an Intel Core i7 8th Gen processor running at 1.90GHz. It ships with 8GB of memory and a 128GB SSD. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed with a recovery image. The non-touch display offers a 1366 x 768 resolution.

Suits travellers needing a managed Windows device

This unit fits users who want a compact business chassis with a backlit keyboard and Bluetooth for peripherals. It is not for buyers who need a touchscreen, a higher-resolution panel or more than 128GB of internal storage. Creators requiring discrete graphics should look elsewhere.

Fits a lightweight carry bag

The 14.0-inch form factor leaves room for a power adapter and documents in a slim briefcase. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles external displays without a dedicated GPU. Two memory slots allow a future RAM upgrade. No optical drive means one less moving part to fail.

Questions about this item

What external display connections does the Latitude 7490 offer for a second monitor?

The specifications list no USB ports, so video output relies on the laptop's built-in HDMI or DisplayPort sockets if they are present on the unit you receive.

Will the 8 GB of installed memory limit performance when running current Windows 10 Pro updates?

The system ships with 8 GB in one of two slots, leaving one slot free for an upgrade if your workload needs more than the factory amount.

How can I verify the 128 GB SSD is recognised at its full capacity after first boot?

Open File Explorer or Disk Management and confirm the drive shows between 120 GB and 128 GB of usable space, the range noted for this capacity class.
