Latitude 7490 14-inch HD business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0-inch HD non-touch laptop built for professionals, students and small-business users who need a reliable Windows 10 Pro machine. It ships new with an 8th-generation Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor running at 1.7GHz, 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles everyday visual tasks.

512GB SSD and 8GB DDR4 memory included

The 512GB solid-state drive provides fast boot times and ample space for documents, applications and local files without needing an external drive. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory keeps multiple browser tabs, office suites and video calls responsive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed, adding business-grade security and management features for organisational deployments.

1366 x 768 anti-glare display decides mobility fit

The 14-inch panel uses a 1366 by 768 resolution with an anti-glare coating, which suits text-heavy work and travel but limits detail for creative editing or multi-window layouts. Buyers who need a higher pixel density for design, data-dense spreadsheets or side-by-side code windows should consider a model with a sharper screen.

Questions about this item

Will the 512GB SSD need replacement for more storage?

The 512GB SSD is the installed drive; adding capacity later means swapping it for a larger unit or using external storage.

What limits the Intel Core i5-8350U 1.7GHz during long workloads?

The 1.7GHz quad-core processor will hit its thermal ceiling first, causing clock speeds to drop under sustained multi-threaded load.

How loud and hot does the 14.0" HD laptop get running all day?

Dual speakers and the Intel UHD 620 graphics share a compact chassis, so fan noise rises and the base warms noticeably during continuous use.
