Purpose-built 14-inch business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14-inch laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-7600U dual-core processor with a turbo frequency of 3.9GHz. It comes with 8GB of memory and a 512GB Dell storage drive. The display offers a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Battery life is rated up to 10 hours. It includes a card reader and one HDMI port.

Best for mobile office work, not heavy creation

This machine suits professionals who need a light, durable device for document editing, web browsing and video calls on the move. The integrated Intel HD Graphics and 8GB memory limit its ability to handle modern 3D rendering, intensive video editing or large dataset analysis. Buyers who want more storage, a discrete GPU or a backlit keyboard should look at something else.

Steady output for long work sessions

Under sustained load the dual-core processor maintains clocks within its thermal envelope, so performance stays consistent during extended document or spreadsheet sessions. The 10-hour battery rating reflects real mixed use rather than a short benchmark burst. Fan noise remains low during typical office workloads. The chassis dimensions of 13.03 x 8.7 x 0.70 inches help dissipate heat without aggressive fan curves.
