Product profile

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-8650U processor running at 1.9 GHz. It comes with 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD for fast storage. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics drive a 1920 x 1080 display. The unit weighs 13.03 x 8.7 x 0.70 and includes a card reader and one HDMI port.

Suitability

This configuration suits professionals who need a portable machine for office applications, video calls and multi-tasking on a single high-definition screen. The 16GB memory and quad-core processor handle typical workloads smoothly. Buyers who require a dedicated graphics processor for rendering or gaming should consider other options. Users needing a backlit keyboard or additional ports beyond HDMI will also need to look elsewhere.

Accessories and software

The package includes an AC adapter and charger sized at 13.03 x 8.7 x 0.70. No other peripherals or software bundles are listed in the contents. The built-in card reader allows direct media transfer from compatible cards without an external dongle. The non-backlit keyboard and single video output define the out-of-box connectivity and usability.

Questions about this item

What operating system licence do I need to run the Dell Latitude 7490 i7-8650U?

The laptop ships without an operating system, so you must supply your own Windows or Linux licence before it will boot to a desktop.

Can I keep using my older VGA monitor with the single HDMI port on this 14.0" model?

Yes, a simple HDMI-to-VGA adapter lets the Intel UHD Graphics drive a legacy display at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

How do I confirm the 16GB memory and 1TB storage are recognised after first power-on?

Open the BIOS or Windows Task Manager; both should show 16GB RAM and the full 1TB capacity listed under system information.
