Business laptop with 14.0" screen

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0-inch work laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-8650U processor running at 1.9GHz. It ships with 16GB of memory and a 512GB solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed and the unit includes a wireless adapter, webcam, AC adapter and battery.

Upgrade from slower storage or less memory

Replacing a traditional hard drive with the 512GB SSD cuts boot and application load times. The 16GB memory capacity handles multiple business applications and browser tabs without swapping. The jump is worth it when your current machine stalls on large spreadsheets or video calls.

Fits mobile workflows with included charger

The 14.0-inch form factor slides into standard laptop bags and works on airline tray tables. The supplied AC adapter keeps the battery topped up between meetings. Wireless connectivity and the integrated webcam support remote collaboration without extra dongles. Buyers who need a larger display or discrete graphics should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What physical dimensions does the 14.0" Latitude 7490 need for a sleeve or bag?

The chassis fits a standard 14.0" laptop compartment; measure your bag against the device footprint before buying.

How is Windows 10 Pro installed on this unit, and what step is often missed?

A fresh Windows 10 Pro image is pre-loaded; the step users skip is completing the out-of-box experience and running the first update cycle.

Which components in the i7-8650U 16GB 512GB configuration will likely need replacement first?

The battery and the 512GB SSD are the primary wear items; the 16GB memory and i7-8650U processor are not user-replaceable.
