Refurbished 14-inch business laptop

This Dell Latitude 7490 is a refurbished unit equipped with a quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U processor running at 1.90GHz, 16GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. The 14.0-inch touchscreen displays 1920 x 1080 resolution. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles visual output. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed.

Suits mobile professionals needing a managed OS

The combination of a vPro-class processor, 16GB RAM and Windows 10 Pro fits corporate environments that still standardise on that operating system. Buyers who require a dedicated graphics card, larger local storage or a newer Windows version out of the box should look at something else. The three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and single HDMI output cover basic docking needs.

Touchscreen decides fit for pen or finger input

The 14.0-inch panel supports touch at 1920 x 1080, which is the specification that determines whether this chassis matches a workflow built around direct screen interaction. If touch is not required, the same core hardware exists in non-touch Latitude 7490 configurations.

Questions about this item

How loud does the fan get on the Latitude 7490 when the Intel Core i7-8650U runs at 1.90 GHz all day?

The quad-core processor has a low base frequency of 1.90 GHz and integrated UHD 620 graphics, so typical office workloads keep thermals modest and fan noise low.

Does the 7490 come with a power adapter, or must I supply my own USB-C charger?

The unit includes three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and one HDMI output; a compatible barrel-type AC adapter is required because the laptop does not charge over USB-C.

Can I keep using my older 1080p monitor over HDMI while the 14.0 inch touchscreen stays active?

Yes, the single HDMI 1.4 port drives an external 1920 x 1080 display alongside the built-in touch panel in extended or duplicate mode.
