Dell Latitude 7490 business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor running at 1.90 GHz. It comes with 16GB of memory and a 256GB SATA solid-state drive. The system ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit installed.

Suits mobile professionals needing 16GB RAM

This configuration suits professionals who need 16GB of memory for multitasking across office applications and browser sessions. The 256GB drive offers limited space for large local media libraries or extensive project archives. Buyers who want more storage should consider other options.

256GB SATA solid-state drive

The single specification that decides fit is the 256GB SATA solid-state drive. It provides faster boot and application load times than a mechanical hard drive. Capacity is fixed at 256GB, so users with larger datasets must rely on external or cloud storage.

Questions about this item

Will the 16 GB of RAM or the 256 GB SATA drive need upgrading first?

The 16 GB of memory is soldered and cannot be expanded, while the 256 GB SATA drive can be replaced with a larger one when space runs out.

What limit appears first when the Core i7-8650U runs at 1.90 GHz for hours?

The quad-core processor reaches its thermal ceiling first, causing clock speeds to drop under sustained load.

How loud and hot does the 14 inch chassis get during an all-day workload?

The compact 14 inch chassis relies on a single fan that becomes audible and the base warms noticeably after prolonged use.
