Dell Latitude 7490 14 inch FHD laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14 inch laptop with a 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i5 7th Gen processor at 2.60GHz with 8GB of installed memory. A 128GB SSD provides the primary storage. The system ships with Windows 10 Home and includes a recovery image. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 handles visual output.

Upgrade from older Latitude

This unit replaces laptops that rely on traditional hard drives or earlier generation processors. The solid-state drive delivers faster boot and application load times compared to mechanical storage. The 7th generation Core i5 offers improved efficiency over prior generations for general office tasks. The jump is worthwhile when your current machine struggles with multitasking or slow storage access.

Check memory slots and operating system needs

Two memory slots are present in total with 8GB currently installed. Verify if your workflow requires additional RAM before purchase. The laptop includes Windows 10 Home with a Microsoft Windows 11 Pro upgrade option noted. Confirm that your software environment is compatible with the installed operating system. No optical drive is fitted so external media requires a separate USB device.
