Dell Latitude 7490 14" Business Laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14-inch business laptop running Windows 11 Pro. It features an Intel Core i7-8650U processor, 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB SSD. The non-touch display offers a 1920 x 1080 resolution with anti-glare coating. Integrated UHD Graphics handle visual output for typical office applications.

Compatibility Check Before Purchase

Verify that your existing peripherals connect via the available ports: HDMI 1.4, USB 3.1 Gen1, USB Type-C with DisplayPort and optional Thunderbolt 3, plus an RJ45 jack. The system uses DDR4 2400 memory and includes an SD 4.0 card reader. Wireless connectivity relies on Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 8265 with Bluetooth 4.1. Ensure your docking station or monitors match these interfaces.

Upgrade Context and Value

This unit replaces older business laptops limited to dual-core processors, 8GB of RAM or SATA hard drives. The jump is worthwhile when moving from a system that struggles with multi-tasking or slow boot times. The quad-core i7-8650U, 16GB DDR4 and 512GB SSD deliver a clear responsiveness lift. Buyers needing dedicated graphics, touchscreen input or a lighter ultraportable chassis should consider other form factors.
