Latitude 7490 business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch business laptop running Windows 11 Pro. It uses an Intel Core i7 8th Gen processor with a minimum speed of 1.90GHz, 8GB of installed memory and a 128GB SSD. The Wide UXGA display has a 1366 x 768 resolution and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620. A backlit keyboard and Bluetooth are included.

Upgrade from older ultraportables

This unit replaces slower dual-core ultraportables or ageing hard-drive laptops when single-thread speed and SSD responsiveness matter. The jump is worth it for office workloads that benefit from the i7 clock speed and fast boot times. Buyers who need discrete graphics, higher resolution screens or more than two memory slots should look elsewhere.

Fits thin-and-light deployments

The 14 inch chassis suits mobile professionals and hot-desk environments where space is limited. Integrated graphics free up thermal headroom and keep weight down for daily carry. Two memory slots allow future expansion while the M.2 SSD slot supports storage upgrades. No optical drive means external media is required for legacy installation media.
