Ready for mobile work

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14-inch business laptop built for professionals who need a reliable Windows 10 Pro machine. It ships new with an Intel Core i5-8350U processor, 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB solid-state drive. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch display keeps the chassis light for daily carry.

Steady output on long tasks

The 15W quad-core CPU runs at a 1.7GHz base and can reach 3.6GHz when thermal headroom allows. Under sustained load the integrated UHD Graphics share system memory, so performance settles at a level suited to office applications and light media rather than heavy rendering. The 42WHr battery supports typical workday use away from a desk.

Simple setup with soldered memory

Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed and the fingerprint reader enables Windows Hello sign-in at first boot. The 8GB DDR4 module is not user-replaceable, so buyers who want more memory must choose a different configuration. The 65W adapter uses a standard barrel connector and the 802.11ac wireless card handles network connection without extra hardware.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the 15W i5-8350U run during all-day workloads?

The 15W quad-core processor is designed for sustained office use with passive-friendly cooling; typical fan noise stays low under light load and ramps only during prolonged heavy tasks.

Which peripherals or cables are not included but required to start working?

The box provides the 65W AC adapter and 125V US power cord; you only need to add an external monitor, mouse or docking station if your workflow demands them.

Will my older USB-A accessories and HDMI monitor work without adapters?

The laptop includes legacy USB-A ports and native HDMI output, so existing keyboards, drives and 1080p displays connect directly.
