Mobile workers needing touch input and dual storage

Professionals who value pen or finger interaction on a 14-inch display will appreciate the touchscreen. The combined 512 GB SSD and 1 TB HDD suit users who want fast boot times plus large local capacity. Buyers who need a lighter device or a higher-resolution panel should look at something else.

Questions about this item

What USB standard do the three USB 3.0 ports on the Latitude 7490 actually limit me to?

The three ports use the USB 3.0 interface, capping practical throughput at the 5 Gbit/s signalling rate defined by that standard.

What are the exact chassis dimensions I need to clear for this 14-inch Latitude 7490?

The chassis measures 13.03 x 8.7 x .70 inches, so allow at least that footprint and thickness in a sleeve or dock.

How do I reinstall Windows 10 Pro on this Latitude 7490 and which step do people skip?

Boot from a Windows 10 Pro USB installer, select the 512 GB SATA SSD as the target, and remember to install the Dell driver pack afterwards so the touchscreen, webcam and Bluetooth 4.2 all work.
