Business ultraportable for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0-inch laptop built around an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor running at 1.9 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 4.2 GHz. It ships with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB M.2 SATA SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display. Windows 10 Home 64-bit is pre-installed.

Straightforward setup with standard ports

The laptop arrives with charger and battery included, so initial configuration follows the normal Windows out-of-box experience. Three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, Thunderbolt 3 via USB-C, Gigabit Ethernet and a microSD reader cover most peripherals without adapters. The M.2 SATA drive is not user-swappable in many units, so storage upgrades can be limited. Thunderbolt 3 docks add monitors and power through one cable but require compatible cables.

Suits travellers needing legacy OS and port variety

This model fits professionals who rely on Windows 10 Home and need HDMI, full-size USB-A and wired Ethernet in a light chassis. Buyers who want more storage than 256 GB or a newer Windows version out of the box should look elsewhere. The integrated graphics and 8th-generation processor also limit modern gaming or heavy creative workloads.
