Dell Latitude 7490 mobile workstation

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built around an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 8MB cache. It ships with 32GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB M.2 SATA SSD running Windows 11 Pro. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display.

Suits travelling professionals needing legacy ports

This unit fits users who require a full-size HDMI output, three USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and a microSD reader in a compact chassis. Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C adds docking flexibility. Buyers who need a dedicated GPU for 3D rendering or a touchscreen for pen input should look elsewhere.

Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C decides dock compatibility

The single USB-C port carries Thunderbolt 3 signalling, enabling dual 4K displays or high-speed storage through one cable. If your workflow depends on that specific docking standard, this laptop meets it; if you only need basic USB-C data or video, the extra capability goes unused.
