Mobile workstation for travel and client meetings

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0" laptop built for professionals who work on the move or present to clients. Its Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor reaches 4.2 GHz Turbo Boost, supported by 8GB DDR4 memory and Windows 11 Pro. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 FHD display for clear visuals during meetings.

Straightforward setup with limited upgrade paths

The system arrives with Windows 11 Pro installed and a charger included, so it is ready to use immediately. Memory is soldered to the board, preventing RAM upgrades beyond the factory 8GB. The 128GB M.2 SATA SSD is removable, but the single slot means storage expansion requires cloning or a fresh OS install. Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI ports simplify external monitor or dock connections.

Handles office multitasking.

The 128GB drive holds the OS and essential business apps, yet fills quickly with large media libraries or local databases. Shared video memory limits 3D workloads and multi-monitor performance at higher resolutions. The quad-core CPU manages typical productivity, video calls, and web browsing smoothly. Buyers needing extensive local storage or discrete graphics for rendering should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the Intel Core i7-8650U is running at its 4.2 GHz turbo boost after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, choose CPU and watch the live speed readout climb toward 4.2 GHz when a heavy single-thread load runs.

Which accessories are included and which must be purchased separately?

The box contains the laptop, charger and battery; any docking station, external monitor cable or MicroSD card is sold separately.

Should I choose the 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD or look for a larger capacity?

The 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD suits light workloads and cloud-first users; heavier local storage needs require a larger drive.
