Business laptop for mobile professionals

The DELL Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch laptop built for people who work on the move. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with a base frequency of 1.9 GHz and Turbo Boost up to 4.2 GHz. The system includes 8 GB DDR4 memory and a 1 TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD for fast storage access.

Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI connectivity limits

A single Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port handles data, video and charging through one cable, but it remains the only port of its type on the chassis. The HDMI output supports external displays, yet the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 relies on shared system memory, which caps multi-monitor performance. Three USB 3.0 ports and Gigabit Ethernet provide legacy wired connections.

Memory and storage headroom for daily workloads

The 8 GB DDR4 configuration handles office suites, web browsing and video calls comfortably, while the 1 TB NVMe drive offers ample space for large local files and quick boot times. Demanding creative applications or heavy virtualization will exhaust the soldered memory ceiling, and the integrated graphics cannot accelerate 3D rendering or modern gaming workloads.
