Restores Environmental Sealing on a Rugged Laptop

Replacing a lost or damaged cover restores the original ingress protection for the side I/O panel. Without it, the port openings expose internal circuitry to the harsh conditions the ATG chassis is built to withstand. Buyers needing a left-side cover or a different laptop series will not be served by this part.

Questions about this item

Will the rubber cover over the eSATA and HDMI ports need replacement after repeated opening?

The cover is a genuine Dell OEM rubber part; it protects the eSATA, HDMI, modem and USB ports on the Latitude ATG E6430 right side and will only need replacement if the rubber tears or loses elasticity.

What is the first limit you hit when the cover is cycled open and closed constantly in the field?

The first limit is physical wear on the rubber hinge and sealing lip; once the material cracks or no longer seats tightly, dust and moisture can reach the eSATA, HDMI, modem and USB ports.
