Dell Latitude C400 Palmrest Assembly

This new OEM palmrest includes the integrated touchpad and mouse buttons for Dell Latitude C400 laptops. It replaces a worn or damaged upper chassis section and restores factory cursor control. The part number 5X713 matches Dell service documentation for this model.

Direct replacement with ribbon connectors

The assembly aligns with existing screw posts and keyboard ribbon cables on the C400 chassis. Installation requires removing the keyboard bezel and disconnecting the touchpad flex cable before securing the new unit. Misaligned ribbon seating is the most common cause of intermittent cursor behaviour after fitting.

Stable input under continuous use

The touchpad surface and button switches maintain consistent responsiveness during extended typing or navigation sessions. No drift or double-click errors appear when the palmrest is correctly seated and the flex cable is fully inserted. Long-term reliability depends on keeping the connector free of dust and liquid contamination.
