Questions about this item

How do I install the palmrest touchpad assembly on my Latitude C800 or C810, and what step is often missed?

Remove the keyboard and hinge covers first, then disconnect the touchpad ribbon cable before lifting the old palmrest; the step often missed is forgetting to transfer the trackpad button board to the new assembly.

What maintenance or replacement will the touchpad on this 0M299 palmrest need later?

The touchpad surface may wear smooth over time causing cursor drift; if cleaning with isopropyl alcohol no longer restores responsiveness, the entire palmrest assembly must be replaced as the touchpad is not separately serviceable.
