Latitude E5430 14.1″ business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5430 is a 14.1-inch notebook built around a 3rd Gen Intel Core i7-3740QM quad-core processor running at 2.70 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR3 memory and a 256 GB 2.5″ SATA solid-state drive. Windows 10 Professional 64-bit is pre-installed with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Check RAM slots and drive bay before ordering

The system uses DDR3 SO-DIMM modules; the listing notes a maximum of 16 GB, so verify how many slots are free on your unit. Storage is a single 2.5″ SATA bay — confirm the caddy and connector are present if you plan to add a second drive. The optical bay holds a DVD±RW drive that can be swapped for a caddy.

Sustained load on quad-core mobile CPU

The i7-3740QM maintains its 2.70 GHz base clock across four cores with Hyper-Threading, so multi-threaded workloads such as compilation or virtualisation run steadily. Integrated graphics share system memory, so extended 3D tasks will be limited by the 8 GB DDR3 pool. The TPM security chip handles encryption without impacting thermal headroom.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop include the Windows 10 Pro licence and a DVD±RW drive, or must they be purchased separately?

Windows 10 Professional 64-bit is pre-installed with a Certificate of Authenticity and a DVD±RW drive is built in, so nothing extra is required.

Should I choose the 8 GB DDR3 configuration or the 16 GB DDR3 option for heavier multitasking?

The 8 GB DDR3 handles everyday office work; the 16 GB DDR3 upgrade gives more headroom for multiple large applications or virtual machines.

How does the 2.5" SATA 256 GB SSD perform compared with a traditional hard drive in daily use?

The 256 GB SSD boots Windows 10 Pro and launches apps noticeably faster than a mechanical drive while providing 256 GB of storage space.
