Latitude E5450 14" FHD business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0-inch full-HD laptop built for office professionals and mobile workers who need a reliable Windows 10 Pro machine. It runs on an Intel Core i7-5600U dual-core processor with a base clock of 2.60 GHz and a turbo frequency of 3.20 GHz. The system includes 16GB of DDR3 memory and a new 1TB SATA SSD for fast boot and application loading.

Sustained workload behaviour

Under continuous load the dual-core processor maintains performance within its thermal envelope without the high clock speeds seen in short bursts. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles everyday visual tasks and video playback but is not suited for heavy 3D rendering or modern gaming. The 16GB memory ceiling matches the installed capacity, so memory-intensive multitasking stays within the available physical RAM.

Thermals noise and power

The compact 14.0-inch chassis uses a standard cooling solution that keeps the processor at safe temperatures during typical productivity work. Fan noise remains low during light tasks such as document editing or web browsing and becomes audible only when the CPU runs at higher turbo frequencies for extended periods. Power draw stays modest thanks to the low-voltage processor and solid-state storage.

Questions about this item

How loud does the fan get on the Latitude E5450 when the i7-5600U runs at 3.20 GHz all day?

The dual-core i7-5600U has a base frequency of 2.60 GHz and can reach 3.20 GHz; the internal fan spins up under sustained load, but Dell does not publish a decibel figure for this chassis.

Which cables or peripherals must I already own to use the 1TB SATA SSD and 16 GB DDR3 memory?

The 1 TB SSD uses a standard 2.5" SATA connection and the 16 GB DDR3 fills both memory slots; no extra cables or modules are required — the laptop ships ready to run.

Will the Intel HD Graphics 5500 drive a second monitor at 1920 x 1080 alongside the built-in 14.0" FHD panel?

Yes, the HD Graphics 5500 supports external displays up to 1920 x 1080, so you can mirror or extend the desktop to an older monitor without adding a discrete GPU.
