Rugged Laptop For Field Professionals

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-31 is a fully rugged 13.1 inch laptop built to MIL-STD-810G standards for drop-shock protection. It runs Windows 8 Pro on a single-core 2.53GHz Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB of DDR3 1600 memory. The 256GB SSD provides storage for field data and applications.

Sustained Load Performance

The single-core 2.53GHz processor delivers consistent performance for legacy business applications and data entry tasks. With 8GB of DDR3 memory configured as 4GB x 2, multitasking capacity is limited to lighter workloads. The solid-state drive maintains steady access speeds without thermal throttling during extended field operations.

Interface And Connectivity Limits

Wireless connectivity uses 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN and Bluetooth 4.0 for peripheral pairing. Wired networking is restricted to 10/100/1000Mbps LAN speeds. The integrated GOBI broadband module supports 4G LTE and GPS functions. No optical drive is present, and the XGA touchscreen resolution is fixed at 1024 x 768.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the CF-31 get when running continuously all day?

The fully rugged CF-31 is MIL-STD-810G certified for drop-shock protection and designed for extended field use, with the supplier citing up to 18 hours of battery life under load.

What must I already own for the GOBI 4G LTE and GPS to work on this Toughbook?

An active nano-SIM data plan from a compatible carrier is required for the integrated GOBI broadband module to provide 4G LTE and GPS connectivity.

Will the included digitizer pen and smartcard reader work with my older Panasonic docking station?

Panasonic states 16 years of consistent docking compatibility across Toughbook generations, so the CF-31 should dock and support its peripherals with legacy port replicators.
