Dell Latitude E5450 14" FHD

This Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0" FHD laptop built around an Intel Core i7-5600U dual-core processor with a 2.60 GHz base and 3.20 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 8GB of DDR3 memory, a new 128GB 2.5" SATA SSD and Windows 10 Pro 64-bit pre-installed. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch display is driven by Intel HD Graphics 5500.

Suits mobile professionals needing a compact

The 14.0" form factor and 128GB SSD capacity serve users who prioritise portability and a clean OS install over local storage space. Buyers who want more storage or a touchscreen should look elsewhere. The two memory slots support up to 16 GB total for future upgrades.

128GB 2.5" SATA SSD capacity and interface

The single specification that decides fit is the 128GB 2.5" SATA SSD. It defines both the storage ceiling and the drive bay type, so any workflow requiring a larger volume or a different drive form factor will not match this unit.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 128 GB SSD or look for a larger capacity?

The laptop ships with a NEW 128 GB 2.5" SATA SSD; the board has one 2.5" bay, so a larger SATA drive can be fitted later if you need more space.

What does the 3.20 GHz turbo frequency actually deliver in daily use?

The dual-core i7-5600U runs at 2.60 GHz base and can boost to 3.20 GHz for short bursts, speeding up single-threaded tasks like web browsing and office apps.

How does the SATA interface affect the 128 GB SSD performance?

The drive uses a SATA link, so sequential reads and writes are limited to the SATA bus ceiling, while random access remains far quicker than a mechanical disk.
