Dell Latitude E5450 14 inch FHD laptop

This Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0 inch Full HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-5600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.20 GHz. It comes with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 500GB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

Suits mobile professionals needing a compact

The 14 inch form factor and 1920 x 1080 non-touch display fit well in a bag for daily commutes. Buyers who want more storage capacity than 500GB or who require a dedicated graphics processor for heavy rendering should look at something else. The dual-core CPU and integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 handle office applications and web browsing smoothly.

Memory ceiling fixed at 16GB across two slots

The system ships with 8GB installed and the manufacturer specifies a maximum of 16GB supported across two memory slots. This limit determines whether the laptop can meet future multitasking demands. No other upgrades are detailed in the specifications.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 8 GB DDR3 configuration or upgrade to the 16 GB maximum?

The laptop ships with 8 GB DDR3 in two slots and supports up to 16 GB total; adding a second 8 GB module will reach the limit.

What does the 2.60 GHz base and 3.20 GHz turbo of the Core i7-5600U mean for everyday workloads?

The dual-core processor runs at 2.60 GHz normally and can boost to 3.20 GHz for short bursts, handling office apps and web browsing smoothly.

How fast is the 2.5" SATA interface for the 500 GB SSD in real use?

The SATA link caps sequential throughput around 550 MB/s, so the 500 GB SSD will deliver typical SATA read and write speeds.
