Latitude E5450 14" FHD business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0 inch FHD laptop built for professionals who need a portable Windows 10 Home 64-bit machine. It runs on an Intel Core i7-5500U dual-core processor at 2.40 GHz with 16GB DDR3 memory and a new 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch display and Intel HD Graphics 5500 suit office applications and video calls.

Sustained workload behaviour

The i7-5500U reaches a 3.00 GHz turbo frequency for short bursts, while the dual-core design and integrated graphics share thermal headroom under continuous load. The 16GB DDR3 memory is fixed at the 16 GB maximum supported, so heavy multitasking stays within that ceiling. The SATA SSD provides steady read and write throughput for document and browser workloads without the latency spikes of a mechanical drive.

Build, connectors and daily use

The black and silver chassis houses a 14.0 inch non-touch FHD panel, a webcam and Bluetooth for conferencing. Storage uses a 2.5" SATA form factor, so the drive bay accepts standard SATA replacements if capacity needs change later. The system ships with Windows 10 Home 64-bit installed and the supplier notes a 365 day parts and labor warranty. Buyers who need more than 16 GB of memory or a discrete GPU should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the i7-5500U run during all-day use?

The dual-core i7-5500U operates at 2.40 GHz base and 3.00 GHz turbo inside a 14.0" chassis with integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500, so sustained loads stay modest and fan noise remains low for typical office workloads.

Which ports or accessories do I need to supply myself to get this E5450 working?

The laptop ships with Windows 10 Home 64-bit pre-installed on the 1 TB 2.5" SATA SSD and 16 GB DDR3 already fitted, so only a power adapter and any external peripherals you prefer are required.

Will my older SATA drives or DDR3 modules work alongside the installed 1 TB SSD and 16 GB RAM?

The 2.5" SATA bay accepts additional SATA drives, but both DDR3 slots are filled to the 16 GB maximum, so memory cannot be expanded without removing existing modules.
