Product identity

The Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0-inch FHD laptop with an Intel Core i7-5500U dual-core processor running at 2.40 GHz with a 3.00 GHz turbo, 16GB DDR3 memory and a new 128GB SATA SSD. It ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit installed.

Who this suits and who it does not

This machine suits users who need a compact 14-inch business laptop with a full HD screen, 16GB of RAM and Windows 10 Pro ready to run. Buyers who want more internal storage than 128GB or a different storage interface should look elsewhere.

Deciding specification

The 128GB SATA SSD is the single specification that decides fit; it caps the onboard capacity at 128GB and uses the SATA interface, so anyone needing a larger drive must accept external storage or a different machine.

Questions about this item

Can the 128GB 2.5" SATA SSD be upgraded to a larger drive later?

Yes, the 2.5" SATA slot accepts larger SATA SSDs; the 128GB drive is new and user-replaceable.

Will the dual-core i7-5500U throttle at its 3.00 GHz turbo during long workloads?

Sustained turbo depends on the cooling system; the dual-core 2.40 GHz base clock is the guaranteed continuous speed.

How loud does the fan get and how hot does the chassis feel under all-day load?

The compact 14.0" chassis uses a single fan; expect audible airflow and warm palm-rest areas during extended high CPU usage.
