Latitude E5450 with 14.0" FHD display

The Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built around a fifth-generation Intel Core i7-5500U dual-core processor running at 2.40 GHz with a 3.00 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16GB of DDR3 memory and a new 500GB SATA SSD, driven by Intel HD Graphics 5500 on a 1920 x 1080 non-touch screen. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed.

Suits mobile professionals needing a ready-to-use

This configuration fits users who want a portable 14-inch device with a full HD panel, 16GB of RAM and a fresh solid-state drive for general office work, web browsing and video conferencing. Buyers who require a dedicated graphics processor, a touchscreen, expandable memory beyond the 16GB ceiling or a larger storage volume should consider other options.

16GB DDR3 soldered limit decides upgrade path

The system maxes out at 16 GB across two slots, so no further memory expansion is possible after purchase. If your workload demands more RAM, this unit will not meet that need.

Questions about this item

What drive size and interface does the 14.0" FHD laptop use for its 500GB SSD?

The 500GB SSD uses a 2.5" SATA form factor, so any 2.5-inch SATA drive will fit the bay.

How is the 16GB DDR3 memory installed, and what mistake should I avoid?

Both memory slots are filled to reach 16GB, so upgrading means replacing both modules rather than adding a single stick.

When will the 500GB SSD in this Latitude E5450 likely need replacement?

A new 500GB SATA SSD typically lasts several years; monitor SMART health and replace if reallocated sectors or wear indicators rise.
