Ready-to-use business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5450 arrives with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit installed and a new 240GB SSD already fitted. An Intel Core i7-5500U dual-core processor runs at 2.40 GHz with a 3.00 GHz turbo frequency. Eight gigabytes of DDR3 memory handle everyday office workloads out of the box.

14-inch HD non-touch display

The 14.0-inch panel shows 1366 x 768 resolution and relies on Intel HD Graphics 5500 for video output. Buyers who need a higher pixel density, a touchscreen or discrete graphics for creative work should look elsewhere.

Simple storage and memory access

The 2.5-inch SATA SSD and the two DDR3 slots are reachable after removing the base cover, so upgrades to 16 GB total memory or a larger drive are straightforward. The sealed display hinge and integrated battery mean screen or keyboard repairs need more disassembly time.

Questions about this item

What does the 2.40 GHz base speed and 3.00 GHz turbo mean for everyday work?

The dual-core i7-5500U runs at 2.40 GHz and can boost to 3.00 GHz on short bursts, giving snappy response for office apps, web browsing and light multitasking.

How does the SATA interface affect the 240GB SSD performance?

The 2.5-inch SATA SSD uses the SATA bus, so its sequential read and write speeds are limited to the SATA link rather than a faster protocol.

What drive bay and memory slots does the E5450 provide for upgrades?

It has a 2.5-inch SATA bay for the included 240GB SSD and two DDR3 slots supporting up to 16GB total memory.
