Ready-to-use business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5450 ships as a 14.0 inch HD panel driven by an Intel Core i7-5600U dual-core processor at 2.60 GHz with a 3.20 GHz turbo. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR3 memory and a new 128GB 2.5 inch SATA SSD are already installed. No operating system is included so the buyer supplies their own licence.

Upgrade from mechanical storage or less memory

Replacing a spinning hard drive with the fresh 128GB SSD cuts boot and application load times dramatically. The memory slots are already populated to the 16GB maximum, so there is no room to add more RAM later. The jump is worth it when a snappy, silent drive matters more than raw capacity.

Suits mobile workers needing a clean Windows

IT teams and road warriors who want a lightweight 14 inch chassis with a built-in webcam and Bluetooth will find the platform familiar and serviceable. Buyers who need more than 128GB of internal storage or a higher-resolution display should look at something else.

Questions about this item

What size and interface does the internal drive bay use for the 128 GB SSD?

The laptop takes a 2.5-inch SATA drive, which is the form factor and interface of the installed 128 GB SSD.

How do I install an operating system on a unit that ships with no OS?

Create bootable installation media on a USB stick, boot from it, and install Windows or Linux to the internal 128 GB SATA SSD.

Can the 16 GB of DDR3 memory be upgraded later?

No, the system has two slots and the 16 GB already reaches the maximum supported capacity.
