14-inch FHD business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5450 combines a 14.0 inch FHD panel at 1920 x 1080 with an Intel Core i7-5600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz and a 3.20 GHz turbo frequency. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR3 memory and a new 240GB 2.5 inch SATA SSD provide a responsive platform for office productivity and legacy application support. No operating system is included, so the buyer must supply their own licence and installation media.

New SSD and maximum memory

A fresh 240GB SATA drive replaces any ageing mechanical storage, cutting boot and load times while keeping the familiar 2.5 inch form factor. The two memory slots are already populated to the 16 GB ceiling, leaving no room for further RAM upgrades but delivering the full capacity the chipset allows.

Black and silver chassis with core ports

The black and silver finish resists daily wear in mobile environments. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 drives the non-touch display and external monitors through standard video outputs. Bluetooth and a webcam support wireless peripherals and video calls, while the SATA interface keeps storage swaps straightforward for IT teams.

Questions about this item

Can the 16 GB DDR3 memory be upgraded beyond the installed amount?

The memory slots support a maximum of 16 GB, so the installed DDR3 already fills the limit.

What stops the Intel Core i7-5600U from holding its 3.20 GHz turbo during a long workload?

The dual-core processor will hit its thermal envelope first, causing the clock to drop toward the 2.60 GHz base frequency.

How loud and hot does the 14.0" FHD chassis get when the SSD and CPU run all day?

The 2.5" SATA SSD produces minimal heat, so the single fan spins at low speed and the palm-rest stays warm rather than hot.
