Business-ready 14.0" laptop

The DELL Latitude E5450 is a 14.0 inch HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-5600U dual-core processor with a turbo frequency of 3.20 GHz. It ships with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 128GB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed for immediate deployment in office or remote-work settings.

Thermals, noise and power

The ultra-low-voltage i7-5600U processor is designed for efficient operation in a thin-and-light chassis. Under typical office workloads the system runs quietly with modest heat output. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 shares system memory, keeping overall power draw low during everyday productivity tasks.

Memory and storage flexibility

Two memory slots support a maximum of 16GB of DDR3, allowing a straightforward upgrade path for heavier multitasking. The 2.5 inch SATA drive bay accepts larger SSDs or hard drives when more local storage is required. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit provides BitLocker encryption and domain-join features for managed environments.

Questions about this item

How is the 2.5" SATA SSD installed, and what step is often missed?

Remove the base cover, slide the 128GB drive into the 2.5" SATA bay and secure it with the caddy screws; the step often missed is reconnecting the SATA data cable before reassembly.

What maintenance or replacement will the 8GB DDR3 memory need later?

The two DDR3 slots support up to 16GB total, so you can add or replace modules later; no other memory maintenance is required.

What limit appears first on the Intel HD Graphics 5500 during sustained workloads?

The integrated GPU shares system memory and hits thermal throttling before the dual-core i7-5600U reaches its 3.20 GHz turbo ceiling.
