Latitude E5450 14.0" FHD business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0-inch Full HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-5600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a 3.20 GHz turbo frequency. It comes with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 128GB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64-bit is pre-installed. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles the 1920 x 1080 display.

Suits mobile professionals needing a 14-inch FHD

This configuration suits users who want a 14.0-inch 1920 x 1080 non-touch display, a 5th generation Core i7 U-series CPU, 8GB RAM and a fresh 128GB SATA drive with Windows 10 Home. Buyers who need more than 128GB of internal storage or a dedicated graphics processor should consider other options. The two memory slots allow an upgrade to 16GB maximum supported capacity.

128GB 2.5-inch SATA SSD defines storage capacity

The single specification that decides fit is the new 128GB 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drive. It sets the total internal space available for the operating system, applications and files at 128GB. No additional hard drive is present. Verify that this capacity meets your workload before purchasing.

Questions about this item

How do I install more memory in the E5450, and which step is often missed?

Remove the bottom cover, insert DDR3 modules into the two slots, then press each stick until the side clips click — many users forget to seat both sides fully.

What maintenance or replacement will the 128GB 2.5 SATA SSD need later?

The drive has no moving parts, so only monitor SMART health and replace it if wear indicators rise or capacity becomes too small.

What limit appears first on the Core i7-5600U during sustained loads?

The dual-core processor will hit its thermal ceiling before the 3.20 GHz turbo can be maintained, causing clock speeds to drop.
