Ready-to-use business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0 inch HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-5600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a 3.20 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 500GB SSD, and comes with Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64-bit already installed. This unit is supplied in new condition for immediate deployment.

Memory and storage expansion

Two memory slots are fitted and the system supports up to 16 GB of DDR3, allowing a straightforward capacity increase. The 2.5 inch SATA SSD can be swapped for a larger drive if more local storage is required. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles the 1366 x 768 non-touch display and external monitors without a discrete graphics card.

Thermals and power in daily use

The ultra-low-voltage processor keeps heat output modest during typical office workloads, so the cooling fan runs quietly at low speed. Power draw remains light thanks to the efficient dual-core design and solid-state storage. The 14.0 inch chassis provides adequate airflow for sustained productivity tasks without thermal throttling.

Questions about this item

Will the Intel Core i7-5600U throttle under sustained heavy workloads?

The dual-core processor runs at a base frequency of 2.60 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.20 GHz. Under continuous load the chip will reduce speed to stay within its thermal envelope.

How much fan noise and heat should I expect during all-day use?

The system relies on Intel HD Graphics 5500 and a 500 GB 2.5" SATA SSD with no moving platters, so acoustic output stays low and surface temperatures remain moderate.

Do I need a separate RAM kit to reach the 16 GB maximum?

The laptop ships with 8 GB of DDR3 installed across two slots. To reach the 16 GB limit you must replace both modules with a compatible 8 GB DDR3 kit.
