14-inch FHD business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0-inch laptop with a 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i7-5500U dual-core processor with a 2.40 GHz base frequency and 3.00 GHz turbo. The system includes 16GB DDR3 memory and a new 240GB 2.5-inch SATA SSD with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit installed.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This laptop suits professionals needing a portable 14-inch device with a sharp FHD screen for office applications and video calls via the integrated webcam. The 16GB DDR3 memory handles typical multitasking workloads. Buyers who want more storage than the 240GB SSD provides or require a touchscreen interface should consider other options.

Memory ceiling fixed at 16GB

The platform supports a maximum of 16GB across two memory slots, and this unit already ships at that limit. No further RAM expansion is possible beyond the installed 16GB DDR3 configuration.

Questions about this item

Will the 14.0" FHD display and Intel HD Graphics 5500 drive an older external monitor over VGA?

The laptop includes a VGA port so a legacy monitor can be connected; the Intel HD Graphics 5500 supports up to 1920 x 1080 on that output.

How can I verify the Intel Core i7-5500U is reaching its 3.00 GHz turbo after setup?

Open Task Manager in Windows 10 Pro, select the Performance tab, and watch the CPU frequency climb to 3.00 GHz under load.

Does the box include a power adapter or must I source one separately?

A compatible AC adapter is included; the 240GB SSD and 16GB DDR3 are already installed, so no extra parts are required to start.
