Core specification

The Dell Latitude E5470 is a 14.0 inch FHD laptop driven by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor that reaches 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 1TB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. Windows 10 Home 64-bit comes pre-installed.

Build integration

Two memory slots support a total of 16 GB if extra capacity is required later. The 2.5 inch SATA drive bay holds the included SSD and leaves no mechanical hard drive installed. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles the 1920 x 1080 panel without a discrete graphics card.

Sustained workload behaviour

The ultra-low-voltage CPU and integrated graphics share a modest thermal envelope, so clock speeds will settle below the turbo peak during long compile or render sessions. Buyers who need discrete GPU acceleration or more than 16 GB of RAM should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the dual-core i7-6600U throttle under sustained heavy workloads?

The processor runs at a base frequency of 2.60 GHz with a turbo boost up to 3.40 GHz; thermal management will limit sustained performance at the turbo level.

How loud or hot does the laptop get when running all day?

Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 and the dual-core CPU produce modest heat; typical office use keeps fan noise low and surface temperatures comfortable.

What memory type must I already have if I want to upgrade to the 16 GB maximum?

The system uses DDR3 modules across two slots; matching DDR3 sticks are required to reach the 16 GB ceiling.
