Dell Latitude E5470 14-inch laptop

The Dell Latitude E5470 is a 14.0-inch HD business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6820HQ quad-core processor running at 2.70 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.60 GHz. It comes equipped with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 240GB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. The unit ships without an operating system installed.

Professionals needing a managed Windows deployment

This laptop suits IT departments or users who intend to install their own licensed copy of Windows or an alternative OS, as no operating system is included. It is not suitable for buyers who require a ready-to-use system with a pre-installed OS, nor for those who need more than 16 GB of total memory capacity.

240GB SATA SSD storage capacity

The single specification that determines fit is the 240GB 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drive, which sets the total primary storage space available for the operating system, applications and user data.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 2.5" SATA SSD and what step is often missed?

Remove the base cover, slide the 240GB SSD into the 2.5" SATA bay and secure it with the caddy screw; the step often missed is seating the drive fully before tightening the screw.

What memory upgrade will this laptop need later and what is the limit?

It uses DDR3 SO-DIMMs in two slots with 8 GB installed; the maximum supported is 16 GB, so adding one 8 GB module reaches the limit.

At what point does the Intel HD Graphics 530 become the bottleneck under sustained load?

The integrated GPU shares system memory and has no dedicated VRAM, so graphics-intensive tasks hit the shared memory bandwidth limit first.
