Dell Latitude E5470 14.0 inch laptop

The Dell Latitude E5470 is a 14.0 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-6300U processor running at 2.4GHz. It comes with 8GB of DDR3 system memory and a 256GB SSD for storage. The integrated Intel HD Graphics drive the 1366 x 768 resolution non-touch display. It ships with Windows 10 Pro installed and includes a webcam and Bluetooth connectivity.

Thermals noise and power profile

The low-power Intel Core i5-6300U processor helps maintain modest heat output during typical office workloads. Integrated graphics eliminate the thermal load of a discrete GPU, keeping fan noise low for quiet environments. The 256GB solid-state drive draws less power than a mechanical hard drive, supporting longer battery runtime. This combination suits all-day productivity without aggressive cooling demands.

Build quality ports and daily use

This unit is graded Scratch and Dent Grade C with minor damage to the plastics around the fan grill area. The bottom cover has a small crack and the screen shows a pencil-tip size backlight spot that does not affect usage. Connectivity includes three USB 3.0 ports, one HDMI output and one VGA port for external displays. The chassis is finished in black and supports up to 64GB of memory for future upgrades.

Questions about this item

How is the 8 GB DDR3 memory installed, and which step is often missed?

The 8 GB DDR3 module slots into the internal SO-DIMM socket; the step often missed is pressing the stick down until both side clips click fully into place.

What maintenance or replacement will the 256 GB SSD need later?

The 256 GB SSD has no moving parts, so only firmware updates or a capacity upgrade to the 64 GB memory limit may be needed later.

What limit appears first on the Intel Core i5-6300U under sustained load?

The integrated Intel HD Graphics shares system memory, so graphics-intensive tasks hit the shared-memory ceiling before the processor reaches its thermal ceiling.
