Product identity

The Dell Latitude E5470 is a 14.0" HD+ laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U processor at 2.60 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. It comes with 16GB DDR3 memory and a new 240GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. This unit suits professionals who need a compact business machine for office applications and remote work.

Upgrade perspective

The 240GB NVMe SSD replaces a traditional hard drive, delivering faster boot times and application loading. The 16GB DDR3 memory reaches the maximum supported capacity, so no further RAM expansion is possible. The dual-core processor handles everyday productivity but is not suited for heavy multi-threaded workloads or modern gaming.

Installation notes

The laptop arrives with Windows 10 Pro pre-installed and ready to use. Memory slots are occupied to the 16GB limit, so upgrades require module replacement rather than addition. The M.2 SSD is already fitted; swapping it demands careful disassembly of the chassis. Non-touch HD+ display offers 1600 x 900 resolution without digitiser complications.

Questions about this item

Will the 14.0" HD+ chassis accept a second stick to reach the 16 GB DDR3 limit?

The board has two DDR3 slots and the 16 GB already installed is the maximum supported, so no additional memory can be added.

What is the correct order to seat the M.2 NVMe PCIe drive before tightening the screw?

Insert the 240GB M.2 NVMe PCIe drive at an angle into the slot, press it flat against the board, then secure it with the single retention screw.

When should the 240GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD be replaced to avoid wear-out?

Monitor the drive health in Windows 10 Pro; replace it when the SMART wear indicator approaches the rated endurance limit.
