Built for business mobility

The Dell Latitude E5470 is a 14.0-inch laptop with an HD+ 1600 x 900 non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i7-6820HQ quad-core processor at 2.70 GHz with a 3.60 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 16GB of DDR3 memory and a new 1TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed.

Chassis and connections for daily use

The black Latitude chassis houses the 5470 platform with integrated Intel HD Graphics 530. Two memory slots are present, though the maximum supported capacity of 16GB is already populated. The 2.5-inch SATA SSD bay provides straightforward storage access. Standard business ports and a webcam support typical office docking and video calls.

Upgrading from older dual-core machines

This unit replaces ageing dual-core laptops that struggle with modern multitasking and lack solid-state speed. The quad-core i7-6820HQ and 16GB DDR3 deliver a clear step up for heavy spreadsheet work and multiple browser tabs. Buyers who need more than 16GB of RAM or a dedicated graphics processor should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What speed does the SATA interface on the 2.5" 1TB SSD cap at?

The 2.5" 1TB SSD uses a SATA connection, so its maximum transfer rate is limited by the SATA interface used in the Latitude E5470.

What physical drive size fits the storage bay?

The storage bay accepts a 2.5" SATA drive; the included 1TB SSD matches that form factor exactly.

How is the 1TB SSD installed and what step is often missed?

The 1TB SSD is installed in the 2.5" SATA bay; a common oversight is not securing the drive with its caddy screws before closing the chassis.
