Ready-to-use business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5470 ships as a new unit with a 14.0-inch FHD panel at 1920 x 1080, an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor reaching 3.40 GHz, 8 GB of DDR3 memory and a fresh 1 TB NVMe drive. No operating system is installed, so the buyer adds their preferred Windows or Linux build.

Single drive slot limits expansion

Storage sits on one M.2 NVMe PCIe slot and the specifications list no 2.5-inch bay, so the 1 TB drive is the only internal volume available. Buyers who want more storage must rely on external USB drives or cloud services.

Straightforward memory upgrade, watch the OS step

Two SODIMM slots accept up to 16 GB total, making a RAM increase simple with the chassis open. The missing operating system means the first boot requires installation media and driver collection before the laptop becomes usable.

Questions about this item

How does the 3.40 GHz turbo speed of the i7-6600U translate to everyday workloads?

The dual-core processor reaches 3.40 GHz on short bursts, letting office apps, web browsing and light multitasking stay responsive while base clocks keep thermals in check.

What does the NVMe PCIe interface mean for the 1TB M.2 drive in daily use?

The NVMe PCIe connection lets the 1TB M.2 SSD move data at PCIe lane speeds, cutting boot and application load times versus older interfaces.

Can the two DDR3 slots accept 16 GB modules to hit the 16 GB maximum?

The board provides two DDR3 slots with a 16 GB ceiling, so matching 8 GB sticks are the practical upgrade path.
