14-inch FHD laptop for daily work

The Dell Latitude E5470 is a 14.0" Full HD laptop driven by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 500GB NVMe M.2 solid-state drive. No operating system is installed.

Professionals needing a ready Windows machine

This unit suits technicians, developers or students comfortable installing their own operating system and managing drivers. Buyers who want a laptop that boots to a desktop out of the box or who require more than 16 GB of memory will need a different configuration.

500GB NVMe M.2 storage

The new 500GB NVMe M.2 drive provides fast boot and application loading compared with traditional hard drives. The M.2 slot uses the NVMe protocol, so only NVMe-compatible replacements will work as direct upgrades.

Questions about this item

How do I install the M.2 NVMe drive in the Latitude E5470 and which step do people often miss?

The 500GB M.2 NVMe drive fits into the single M.2 slot on the motherboard; secure it with the retaining screw after inserting it at an angle.

What maintenance or replacement will the 8GB DDR3 memory need later?

The laptop has two DDR3 slots supporting up to 16GB total; you can add a second module or replace both for more capacity.

What limit appears first on the Intel HD Graphics 520 during sustained workloads?

The integrated GPU shares the processor's thermal envelope, so graphics performance drops when the i7-6600U reaches its temperature ceiling.
